Ghanaian Sugar Bread is a sweet dense and chewy textured bread commonly eaten in Ghana. other West Africans eat similar versions of this bread as well like agege bread in Nigeria and recipe that is tweak-able to cater to taste.

 ½ cup of granulated sugar
 1 tsp salt
 ¼ tsp grated nutmeg
 ½ cup warm milk
 1 egg at room temperature
 ½ tsp vanilla extract
 1 tbsp of melted butter
 1 cup warm water
 1 tbsp dry active yeast
 ¼ cup flour for kneading
