Programme Lead

Role Purpose

The Programme Lead position is based within the Commercial Operations.

This role will be responsible for ensuring that client programmes are planned, coordinated and communicated in a professional manner, keeping client stakeholders regularly informed of progress, and ensuring that all stakeholder expectations are managed and that client commitments are consistently met.

Strategy

Your responsibilities will include:

Liaise and work with the various stakeholders and Business Unit Executive Heads to align the objectives/outcomes of assigned programme with the Business Units overall strategy and goals.

Pre-Sales Engagement & Project Planning

Engage in Sales opportunities well in advance of contract signature to ensure thorough capture of client requirements and hold a project kick-off as early as possible.

Prepare and deliver client programme plan to ensure accurate expectations are set and advise clients of any critical project milestones.

Programme Management

Provide professional end-to-end Programme Management for Clients.

Apply & assure end-to-end Project Methodology and ensure high quality results.

Lead the virtual project team (as the overall primary point of contact) throughout a Client Programme lifecycle and ensure that all key milestones are met.

Ensure that programme delivery activities are coordinated between the Client, Sales account team, and internal groups.

Effectively manage programme budget.

Ensure that a clean hand-over to the Client at the close of each programme is facilitated.

Client Communication & Stakeholder Management

Capture client business priorities, critical information & agree programme plan.

Ensure that service activations are scheduled & facilitated with the client.

Coordinate, host and attend virtual team meetings with clients, account teams, and internal groups.

Proactively provide status update of progress reports, highlighting Risks, Actions, Issues &/or Dependencies (written & verbal as appropriate).

Provide programme dashboard reports to key internal & client stakeholders

Manage Risks, Actions, Issues & Dependencies

Assess, record & mitigate risks / dependencies against programme on-time delivery, quality &/or budget

Lead cross functional teams to take preventative (& corrective) action on any programme related issues and escalate as required to ensure client requirements and due dates are met.

General, Support and Administration

Ensure that programmes are documented to a high standard, communicated and agreed with the client according to the Project Management Standards and the contract.

Ensure that NPS Client surveys are initiated at the completion of each project.

Provide Programme Management expertise to the Account team & Client to ensure the delivery of a professional Project Management Service throughout the Programme Delivery.

Ensure that accurate system records and reports are maintained

Communication

Communication is a key responsibility for the role as it will need to work closely with clients, and various stakeholder to track progress and provide updates on any changes in strategy or priorities.

The role will also entail reporting to Senior Management on the progress of individual projects and the overall program.

Compile and communicate portfolio reports as agreed with stakeholders.

The Ideal Candidate For This Role Will Have

Matric / Grade 12 essential

Relevant Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Project Management or related essential

Relevant Postgraduate (preferable)

5+ years of extensive Programme Management skills and experience essential.

Successful track record of Pogramme/Project Managing complex inter-company initiatives.

System Management experience, both operational and upgrades.

A self-starter with a determination to succeed balanced with appropriate tact and diplomacy.

Key Competencies

Project management and Project management processes such as Prince II, X-pert, etc.

Financial knowledge

General Telecommunication knowledge

PC literate and absolute understanding and application of project management tools and techniques in a complex systems environment

Technical or commercial project management knowledge
